Cleanse
Step 1 - Cleanse.
Dermaviduals gentle cleansing milk to remove all traces of make-up, dirt and impurities.
Dermaviduals Enzyme Renewal treatment – a gentle desquamation to remove the uppermost dead skin cells, whilst leaving your skin barrier intact.
Energise
Step 2 - Energise.

Does it hurt?
Probably less than you may think. Everyone feels pain and discomfort differently, but many of my clients don’t find their treatments too uncomfortable. Certain parts of the face can be more sensitive than others, and targeting specific areas, such as lines or stretch marks, can be more uncomfortable.
I do not apply or ask my clients to use numbing cream beforehand, as numbing cream inhibits the inflammatory response, which is an essential response required to trigger new collagen.
How many treatments do I need?
This depends on the age and the skin concern to be treated.
Some salons offer a single microneedling treatment, but this is unlikely to be effective for long-term benefits.
An initial course of 4 treatments is recommended alongside supportive home care in order to see results. Clients notice more visible effects following their third treatment. More than four treatments may be required, depending on the age and skin condition. This would be discussed and reviewed during and after your course of treatments.
Following a course of treatments, one-off treatments are recommended as required. Typically, this would be 2-4 times a year.

Is there any skin prep needed?
Skin should be in good condition before needling, (although in certain instances, skin with mild acne can benefit from needling) and not suntanned.
Microneedling is an advanced skin treatment; as such, your skin requires some preparation to ensure minimal skin irritation and optimal treatment results. This involves conditioning your skin barrier with appropriate home care. Correct skincare also begins to stabilise pigmentation prior to your treatment, which is important if you are having needling to address skin tone or pigmentation concerns.
Three days prior to needling, active and retinol-based products are to be avoided.

Can I combine microneedling with other treatments?
Microneedling is particularly compatible with LED Phototherapy treatments, such as Dermalux and Microcurrent, both of which can enhance your overall treatment results. Other treatments that work by creating skin trauma should be carefully timed, allowing for sufficient healing time and skin barrier recovery before the skin is treated with another modality. Not allowing enough time in between treatments can cause unnecessary skin trauma and adverse reactions, including swelling and redness. Your skin studio or salon should always provide aftercare and advise you on the correct space between treatments.

In the first week, to help aid skin recovery, use only gentle skincare as directed by your therapist. Dermaviduals’ bio-mimetic, gentle cleansing milk and a Hyaluronic acid serum are ideal for both morning and evening use—no active products, including retinols, acids, peels, or other active ingredients. AllSKIN MED Regenerating Ampoules are also recommended for use alongside Microneedling treatments, aiding in skin recovery and boosting collagen production.
Five days later, a gentle Enzyme renewal treatment, such as Dermaviduals Enzyme Renewal, is ideal for helping to alleviate any flaking or dryness.
After one week
Microcurrent and Dermalux Phototherapy are both complementary for their healing effects and reinforce the skin’s barrier. Additionally, it increases cellular activity, boosting collagen and elastin production, to enhance the results from any Microneedling treatments.
After two weeks, Laser hair removal. Always ensure that the skin has fully recovered its barrier function before proceeding with any Laser treatment. If you experience any redness, sensitivity, or peeling, postpone your treatment until your skin returns to normal.
Botox -Ideally, schedule at least 2 weeks after Microneedling for optimal healing.
CryoPen -Wait two weeks for full skin recovery before having any CryoPen treatments on the same area.
Stronger resurfacing treatments- (peels, microdermabrasion, high-strength actives). Possible if considered studioally appropriate. When undergoing a course of microneedling, skin improvements will accumulate over 6-12 months; therefore, microneedling alone may well produce the desired aesthetic outcome.
Laser skin rejuvenation is generally not combined with microneedling. When considering both options, it’s essential to book a consultation, gather information about what each treatment offers, and determine which option best suits your skin goals, time frame, and budget.
Radiofrequency – Is thermal, producing heat in the skin’s tissues and on the skin’s surface. Allow 5-7 days following any Radiofrequency treatment before microneedling and 2 weeks after microneedling.
Repeat Microneedling treatments
During a typical course of treatments, there are 4-6 sessions, usually spaced 4-6 weeks apart.

Treatments are available on a pay as you go basis. Clients booking a fourth treatment (within 6 months of commencing) pay £145, saving £40.
Is it safe to have microneedling if I have an LED mask?
LED is compatible with Microneedling, and when used correctly, can enhance your Microneedling results.
Immediately after a Microneedling treatment with me, I utilise Near Infrared light solely to calm my client’s skin. After five days, you can begin using a home LED device with Red at 613 nm and NIR at 833 nm. The Red light will stimulate ATP (cellular energy) production in fibroblast cells, boosting collagen, elastin, and hyaluronic acid production.
Note: Make sure to use a safe, studioally tested device such as faceLITE TM. Many cheap devices may not emit the exact therapeutic wavelength, even if red light is visible. Some inexpensive devices can actually be more harmful than helpful.
