Rosacea Treatment in Fleet
Rosacea Care & Support
Rosacea is often a challenging skin condition to live with because of its seemingly unpredictable symptoms, such as facial redness, irritation, and spots. From my experience with my rosacea clients, I know that they have found caring for their skin difficult in the past. Finding the right support can make a big difference in managing your rosacea symptoms and feeling more comfortable, both emotionally and physically, in your skin. At my studio here in Fleet, Hampshire, I can support you either alongside prescribed medication or, in some cases, without it.
In rosacea-prone skin, the skin’s barrier is compromised, which is a trigger of further inflammation, redness and other rosacea symptoms. Dialling down this inflammation by supporting your skin’s barrier health and having a good understanding of what is happening internally and externally is how I can help you feel more in control of your rosacea skin.
What is Rosacea?
Rosacea is a chronic inflammatory skin condition affecting the central area of the face (cheeks, nose, chin, forehead). It is a complex condition that is not fully understood and currently has no cure. However, medication, lifestyle factors, and appropriate skincare can help.
Rosacea requires a diagnosis by a doctor or dermatologist. If you think you may have rosacea, seek a medical diagnosis. This does not mean that I cannot help you with your skin, but as a non-medic, I do not diagnose.
As a guide, there are 4 subtypes of rosacea:
Erythematotelangiectatic: Characterised by Persistent facial redness, frequent flushing, visible capillaries (tiny blood vessels), in addition to skin being easily irritated, dry and flaky.
Papulopustular: Characterised by persistent redness with papules and pustules, which can be mistaken for acne. Again, the skin is sensitive, reactive, and often very dry.
Phymatous: the studioal features are thickened skin and enlargement due to tissue growth, most commonly affecting the nose. Skin may appear bumpy and irregular, and it is most common in men.
Ocular: Affecting the eye (ocular) area, symptoms include red or inflamed eyelids, light sensitivity, and irritated eyes that may feel gritty, dry, and/or watery.
Who is Most Likely to Be Affected?
Rosacea is usually seen in adults aged 30 to 60 and is more common in women and fair-skinned individuals. These three factors partly explain why rosacea can first appear during menopause. Those with a family history of rosacea and those with Celtic or Northern European ancestry also have a higher risk of developing the condition. Sensitive, reactive, sun-damaged skin and skin prone to flushing are also at increased risk.
Skincare and Homecare to Avoid?
Triggers
Gut and Skin Connection
Both the skin and the gut lining are hosts to ecosystems composed of bacteria, viruses and fungi. Unique to each individual and referred to as the skin or gut microbiome, these essential microorganisms form part of our immune system and help to control inflammation. In some rosacea skins, these microbes can be out of balance; we call this dysbiosis.

Microcurrent facials are best known for lifting and toning facial muscles and skin. Skincare for Rosacea
Dermaviduals
Dermaviduals skincare is particularly suited to rosacea skin, as its high-quality formulations mimic the skin’s structure, helping to repair the skin barrier and encourage skin resilience. Rosacea skin is easily irritated by many common cosmetic ingredients, making it difficult to find calming skincare products. Dermaviduals is free from these skin irritants, including fragrance, colours, mineral oil, silicones, emulsifiers, amines, and preservatives.
Dermaviduals Prescriptive Skincare
Alongside pre-formulated skincare that supports rosacea skin, I can offer you both prescriptive creams and serums made just for you. This level of customisation is available thanks to over 30 potent formulations that deliver anti-inflammatories, vitamins, minerals, antioxidants, plant extracts, and other skin-strengthening ingredients deep into the skin. These powerful ingredients can penetrate and merge with the skin’s barrier via an advanced delivery system. The Active ingredient is contained within a sphere (liposome or nanoparticle) made from phospholipids, which are similar to those found in the skin cell membrane. Once the Active ingredients have been delivered into the skin, they can target and correct skin concerns.
The process
The process of improving your rosacea symptoms and skin health begins with a consultation, skin assessment and initial treatment. This is the start of me getting to know your skin. Initially, I will offer you a personalised Dermaviduals skincare prescription, along with key guidance on your homecare routine. After 2-4 weeks, I recommend a follow-up appointment with a Dermaviduals facial. This will be a bespoke, calming skin treatment for you, and a time for us to review your skin’s responses so far, and I will adapt my home care advice accordingly.

Feedback From Some of My Rosacea Clients
I have been having treatments with Jo for around two years now and have seen a marked difference in my skin, especially where my rosacea flares under my chin. My skin always looks so plump, hydrated and glowing after my appointments. I believe having developed my skin barrier, with Jo’s Dermaviduals facials and products, that my skin has improved immensely.
Plus, I find it so liberating that I no longer succumb to new products’ hype and promises for better skin.
Maria
I have been going to Jo for about a year now, and she has made a huge difference to my skin. She is passionate about what she does, finding new and effective products and treating each client as an individual with treatments particularly tailored to their concerns.
Mary-Ellen
Jo is very thorough and aware of my skin conditions; the treatment was exceptional. (75-minute Dermaviduals facial).
